Ms Michelle Takala-Grocholski

Ms Michelle began taking jazz classes at the age of 10 in Grande Prairie. When Satin Slippers opened in 1992 Michelle was one of the 51 dancers the first year.

For the next several years, Michelle studied jazz and ballet, danced in the 1995 opening and closing ceremonies for the Canada Winter Games and a production of Grease the musical.

Upon graduating high school, it was off to Edmonton where Ms Michelle studied dance at Grant MacEwan and her love of modern dance grew.

After completion of the dance program, it was back to Satin Slippers for a couple of seasons. Life than took her family to Whitecourt, Edson and Fort St John where she continued to teach. In 2007 life threw another spin on things and brought her and her family back to Beaverlodge where she took over Satin Slippers. Over the course of the last 15+ years, Ms. Michelle has had wonderful opportunity to be part of incredible projects such as Grande Prairie Idol, Broadway Live Broadway’s Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Snow White and Grande Prairie Little Theatre’s Shrek the Musical.

She is a certified Pilates and ballet instructor with the CDTA. Ms Michelle is excited to continue to share her love and passion of dance with the next generation of dancers.
